I borrowed this title from Alton Brown-- I guess he borrowed it from Chinese Mandarin-- this two words together in Chinese Mandarin means "delicious" (with capital D).
After Leonard's six-month check up, we started him with baby cereal. Although he did not know how to swallow very well at first, he did not spit it out intentionally neither. Just after a couple of times, he started to lean forward when we tried to feed him with spoon. Very soon he starts to enjoy eating-- just in two weeks, his intake increases from 1 tbs to 3 tbs each time. I am a very proud mommy because Leonard definitely gets that great appetite from me! I like rice cereal very much-- M actually makes me hot cereal drinks to calm me down when he finds me tired and fuzzy.
Last weekend, we moved on to vegetable-- we thought it will be as easy as cereal but we were wrong. Vegetable is a totally different animal(?!) Leonard's first vegetable is carrot Annie made at home. Soon we found out carrots might have high volume of nitrate so we moved to the second one: sweet potato. I like sweet potato and I thought Leonard probably will like it as it is sweet and tender. I am wrong! He was totally in shock after taking the first bite... His little face twisted and turned red. He hold his breath (trying to decide what to do), swallowed, and he signed with dismay! I couldn't help but feel funny (and tried to feed him more!) What really interests us is although he made all kind of disquiets faces, he still kept opening his mouth for more.
So far, aside from sweet potato we have tried potato, broccoli, and apple. We cooked each item and use blender to make the vegetable mushy. Every meal, we tried to give him one to two items aside from cereal. The order Annie adopts is cereal, one vegetable he likes, and a new item (have not yet decide if he likes it or not). I guess doctors probably will go for a totally opposite order. As long as Leonard takes all of them. I am okay.

ERR! Mommy, what is this--! (this is sweet potato)
Too sweet! too soft! This is not what I used to have! And why you are laughing, mommy?!
Aaaaahh! Daddy! Stop taking pictures! Come to save me!
Don't even think you can fool me with the color! It stinks! This is not baby cereal! (this is potato)
Err!! I don't want to grow up if I have to eat this everyday.

Leonard is very fond of this TA in his daycare. He repeats her words after her, and always smiles at her. I like their interaction very much. Michael took this picture one evening when we picked up leonard.
You are absolutely a cutie, Leonard!
Repeat after me: ba ba! (Leonard: mobmoboo..)
哈~~~ Leonard的表情真是太經典了!!!!!
