Seems to react to sound: when a milk bottle "pops", Taikun turns his head to the direction of the sound.
Sep 30:
Became much fatter, able to "smile" when family is close,
Oct 3, opening the hand/foot print kit--but worrying about unable to fit his hands and feet. Get to get it done soon before too late.
Oct 14--Grandma returns. She cries before departing Taikun. Taikun appears to attend to/ (listen?) to music today during dinner time. Dr Barber said it's time to develop his multi-lingual capability by talking to him in different languages. The golden time to develop authentic (accent-free) language is before one-year-old. Should teach him Taiwanese, Mandarin, and perhaps later English.
Nov 7-8. Sitting room's toys are deployed. Taikun is put there, being watched at how he manages the play. Tina tries to turn him over, letting him facing down to the mat. He is good, being able to use elbows/ arms to hoist the body up. This trains this arms and coordination!
Nov 23--recent two weeks I have many time shared with Taikun. Bathe him. Play with him in sitting room. Hold him walking around. Sing to him. I have found that he smiles a lot. Often times, he responds to my grins. I smile, and then he follows. What a boy!
Nov 28 2010--visiting Niagara Falls, and had an afternoon meal at a restaurant. He is able to exert force in waist to straight up; also showing more curiosity towards surroundings. When held in my arm to take a walk in the restaurant (Danny's Buffalo cuisine restaurant close Buffalo airport, http://www.dannysrestaurant.com), he shows great interests to other strangers (guests and servers) there. He smiled to himself and me, when seeing himself in a big mirror in the restaurant. On the trip back to Erie home, he wants to sit up (by tilting towards forward not lying flat down any more), appearing frustrating being confined in small crib in the car.
Dec 3--Taikun can "ahh" "haaa" "uuhhh", interacting with Annie. Also in recent 2 weeks we suffered from saliva flood--he has so much of it!
Dec 5--Taikun proactively smiles at me....after Annie and Tina trying to remove his congested nostril. He finally calmed down when seeing me after a crazy burst of cry due to discomfort.
Dec 17--he ahh/haa/uuhhh with me.
Dec 24---generally in recent one or two months, he generally smiles more right after he wakes up when he is crisp and sober. But after 1-2 hours, he appears to be tired and "dull", not smiling any more and becoming unresponsive to the environment.
-Annie: When fed, he is able to hold the milk bottle with both hands on his own, through very shortly. Of course, he still needs somebody else to put the nipple back to his mouth if it comes off.
- He stops current activities and attends to nearing footsteps or voices from us. This signals that he is developing audio/ hearing responses from the close family members.
Dec 28-29: While Annie and Jeffery are away visiting Maryland, Taikun is at Tina’s and my hands for two days. He is now able to hold things—though still unstable. He holds a pacifier and licks it along with his thumbs and fingers. Tina has also reported that he is able to turn to the other side when lying on bed. Also he ahhhs and mmmms and errrrs and uhhhhs more. He is making process. A visit of Dr Barber is tomorrow—cannot wait to see his weight and height percentile.
